Fingerlicious BBQ and Baking outdoor on coal and wood burning Oven UK

BBQ and Baking outdoor on coal and wood burning Oven UK

 Who invented BBQ

For succulent results every time, nothing is more crucial than understanding the science behind the interaction of food, fire, heat, and smoke. Lockhart, Texas has plenty of reasons to feel proud. With its unique collection of 19th-century buildings, it is one of the prettiest towns in Caldwell County – and a favourite of Hollywood producers. More than 50 films have been made there, from Baby, the Rain Must Fall (1968), starring Steve McQueen and Lee Remick, to Clint Eastwood’s acclaimed drama A Perfect World (1993). But what really makes locals puff out their chests is the barbecue. Ever since Jesse Swearingen opened Lockhart’s first meat market in 1875, the town has been famous for its barbecued beef and sausages, usually served with saltine crackers, onions and pickles. Every year, its four restaurants welcome more than 250,000 diners from around the world; and in 1999, Lockhart was officially named the ‘Barbecue Capital of Texas’.

Baking in ancient times
The world's oldest oven was discovered in Croatia in 2014 dating back 6500 years ago. The Ancient Egyptians baked bread using yeast, which they had previously been using to brew beer. Bread baking began in Ancient Greece around 600 BC, leading to the invention of enclosed ovens.

Who invented corn on the cob?
It was first cultivated 9,000 years ago in present-day southern Mexico and Central America. After the American Revolution, as settlers moved west into the Ohio River Valley, the Northerners brought with them their Northern Flint, while the Southerners brought Southern Dent.

Hotdog history:
It is believed that the first hot dogs, called “dachshund sausages”, were sold by a German immigrant out of a food cart in New York in the 1860s – perhaps explaining how they acquired their canine name. Around 1870, a German immigrant by the name of Charles Feltman opened the first hot dog stand on Coney Island.

Indian farmers remain defiant, a year after ‘black laws’ passed New Delhi, India – They have been hit by bad weather, hot and cold days, covid19 and most of all away from cosiness of home. They are on the streets. The nearby drains, overflowing with overnight monsoon rains, stinks. A few metres away, pigs rummage through the rubbish. But the weather or stink does not dissuade our Bapu te Bebe, who have been protesting for nearly 10 months against a set of agricultural laws passed by Modi’s government in September last year. Let's join them on every forum, let's join them every social media, let's show them that we are with them in every country, evry city, every village, and on every street, every house. We are all with them, we are all farners, we are all Punjabis.

There is nothing like having outdoor BBQ with surrounded by family and friends and kids playing around please check the Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVmNKqPs52E i did my garden up and it's so cool that lots of people on my Road are getting their gardens done, but building it yourself is totaly different feeling. I built this 2 in 1 BBQ OVEN with old Clay bricks which i had picked from one of my neighbors who got extantion done in there house. I used around 120 bricks. Feelings are on next level when building your own brick BBQ in hot summers espacially these days when weathers go to extream. We have been having quite hot long summers in UK for few years now.

Finding a good spot for your BBQ:

Choose a site for your BBQ that is flat and reasonably protected from the winds also it should be away from shrubs or bushes and it should be close to your kitchen.

 Lay out the foundations:

Mark the area but make sure it's larger then your BBQ area, Add hardcore and compact it down well with a whacker plate.
 Mark out your base
Best way to me was by putting barbecue tray on the floor and lay the bricks around it.
 Continuing the first course
Holding the next brick in one hand, apply 10mm on the brick's vertical joint, this is known as buttering. Now push this buttered brick against the first brick to form a vertical join. scrape your trowel along the side to make a clean edge.
 Finish the first course
Follow this format to complete the first course – constantly checking with the spirit level and square. first layer is perfectly square.

Staggering the courses

Before you start the second layer, it’s important that you stagger each level – each course must maintain a 1/2 brick overlap to bond your project together. This means you’ll have to cut bricks to achieve a staggering effect. To cut, lay the brick on the ground and mark a cutting line around the brick with a bolster and mash hammer. Now place the bolster in the groove and firmly strike it. You could also use an angle grinder with a masonry disc. Continue to stagger each layer, constantly checking you’re square and level in both directions. Build nine layers.

On the tenth row your coal tray and Oven will need support so you will need to lay two bricks cross each side.

After finishing 11th layer you will need to add grill support which are 4 metal plates which you can build into the mortar. Build supports for the drip tray at level 12 and 14th,

Build one more layer on top the jobs done, please give at least 24 hours before using it.

I gave 3 days but food was amazing please clock the link below to check the food i made on it.
